2018 Anticipated Celebrity Baby Names {Part 2}

Last week I talked about 6 celebrity couples that are expecting in 2018 and made some predictions on names they may or may not choose. I had such a fun time doing that one and had way too many expecting couples picked out to make just one post that I have another one for you today! Half of the expected parents in this posts are a part of the Duggar family. They are expecting a lot of grandchildren in 2018!

Tia Mowry and Cory Hardrict
Siblings: Cree Taylor (Boy)
Gender: Unknown
Tia and Cory picked a short and to the point name for their first son. One that is familiar yet unique at the same time. It can be difficult to find the name Cree on baby name sites. One of my main name research source is Nameberry and they don;t even have the name listed! Will the couple pick another name that is familiar yet almost non existing?
Girls: Lux, Plum, Olive, Clover, Snow, Liv, Gem
Boys: Beck, Lane, Ari, Pax, Trey, Zed, Zen

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend
Siblings: Luna Simone
Gender: Boy
In 2016, the year Luna was born, I listed her name as my favorite celebrity baby name of the year. Luna has been growing in popularity since the early 2000s and finally made it into the top 100 in 2016. I foresee the couple picking another name that has been growing in popularity in the last 10 or so years.
Boys: Ace, Maddox, Stone, Wilder, Dash, Nico, Lincoln, Knox

Pete Wentz and Meagan Camper
Siblings: Bronx Mowgli (Previous Relationship), Saint Lazslo
Gender: Girl
Bronx and Saint are both names that fall under the word name category. Words that we hear enough and may not think of them as names at first. That is until someone uses them. I can see the couple going down the unique word name route again with their baby girl.
Girls: Arrow, Haven, Navy, Poet, Scout, Rebel

Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth
Siblings: None
Gender: Unknown
Joy Anna and Austin are just one of three couples expecting babies in 2018. There have been some rumors going around lately that the baby may have already been born but there have been no conformation. Either way this baby is due any day now and I am interested to see what naming route the couple goes down. Will it be familiar like Michael and Henry or unique and unexpected like Spuregeon and Israel? I think they will choose a familiar biblical name.
Girls: Abigail, Ada, Lydia, Ruth, Pearl, Julia, Lucy
Boys: Abel, Peter, Elijah, Zion, Levi, Evan, Jace

Joseph and Kendra Duggar
Siblings: None
Gender: Boy
Joseph and Kendra announced they are expecting a little boy a few weeks ago but there was no word on the name. Like many of the other Duggar children I think the couple will go the biblical route maybe with a more unique name just not as unique as some of his siblings.
Boys: Isaiah, Abraham, Solomon, Noah, Moses, Benjamin, Jacob

Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo
Sibling: None
Gender: Unknown
Jinger and Jeremy are the most recent Duggars to announce they are expecting. Jinger has been known to stray a little from the family viewpoints in the past. I wonder if it will show in the name the couple pick for their little one. Really its hard to tell when the family has such a wide variety of names.
Girls: Mehitabel, Selah, Dove, Zipporah, Keturah, Opal, Shiloh
Boys: Malachi, Lazarus, Gideon, Boaz, Tobias, Enoch

Making these posts has been so fun! The hardest part has got to be making predictions for couples that do not have any children already and not knowing their naming style. Now I just want all these babies to be born so I can see how close or off I was in my predictions!

2018 Anticipated Celebrity Baby Names {Part 1}

It's a new year with new births just waiting to happen. The year 2018 has already been an exciting year in name news with 2 Kardashian babies born. There's still one more Kardashian baby due and a new Prince or Princess  in England! But they aren't the only babies I am overly excited to hear names of and since I can't keep my excitement to myself I wanted to share it with all of you! I took the list of expected moms and dads that was floating around in my head and have thrown it down here for you all including any other their other children's names with it. And to make it more fun I've decided to give some name suggestions/predictions for these new babies as well. As I write this I am thinking it may or may not be in two or more parts depending on how long the post is. Read to the bottom to find out (or the title might just give that away).

Chip and Joanna Gaines
Siblings: Drake, Ella Rose, Duke, and Emmie Kay
Gender: Unknown
My mom and I love their show, Fixer Upper on HGTV, and at the beginning of the current season (or maybe it was the end of the previous one) my mom made a comment that she thought that Joanna was pregnant again. Low and behold my mom was right! I can't wait to hear this new babies name because I'm curious to know if they will stick to the one syllable D names for boys and 2 syllable, double letter E names for girls?
Girls: Eden/Edie, Eva/Evie, Erin, Esme, Effie, Etta, Esther
Boys: Dax, Dash, Dallen, Drew, Derek, Dustin, Dean, Deacon

Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson
Siblings: Prince Oliver (Thompson's from a previous relationship)
Gender: Unknown
Khloe has said on the Ellen show that if the baby is a boy they are thinking of naming him Tristan Jr. but had no girls names picked out. It was mentioned that she wants a girl name to be K or T after mom or dad. With the Kardashian family any name goes! There's some boy suggestions there just incase they decide not to do a  junior.
Girls: Kassia, Keilani, Karissa, Kambria, Thalia, Trista, Tallulah, Thora
Boys: Kaiser, Kyson, Kendrick, Thatcher, Tobias, Tex, Titus

Prince William and Princess Kate
Siblings: George Alexander Louis and Charlotte Elizabeth Diana
Gender: Unknown
I know that everyone in the naming community, really I'd say just about everyone in general, is waiting patiently for the birth of the new Royal baby. I'm sure there are extreme namers out there that have looked into the royal family tree in depth but I am just going to suggest names that I think would go with George and Charlotte or names that are in the immediate family.
Girls: Alice, Philippa, Caroline, Eugenia, Victoria, Mary
Boys: Arthur, Philip, Charles, Frederick, Edward

Macklemore and Tricia Davis
Siblings: Sloane Ava Simone
Gender: Unknown
Sloane is a beautiful, vintage name with a little bit of spunk behind it. Ava is a much more popular name while Simone is again spunky. There are so many great names that flow with Sloane that I could list for paragraphs!
Girls: Cordelia, Harper, Eloise, Marlow, Blair
Boys: Ronan, Graham, Holden, Emmett, Beckett, Cole

Eric and Jessie James Decker
Siblings: Vivianne Rose and Eric Thomas II
Gender: Boy
When it came to naming a girl Eric and Jessie picked a gorgeous feminine name while being both unique yet familiar. As for their second child, a boy, they went the route of junior. It may be easy to suggest girl names but boy names are kind of up in the air. Vivianne was my main source of inspiration for all the names.
Girls: Adelaide, Genevieve, Lillian, Penelope, Margot
Boys: Theodore, Henry, Sebastian, Samuel, Oscar, Finn

Alec and Hilaria Baldwin
Siblings: Ireland (previous relationship), Leonardo Angel Charles "Leo", Rafael Thomas, and Carmen Gabriela
Gender: Boy
All of Alec and Hilaria's children have long romantic names that work in both English and Spanish seeing as Halaria speaks Spanish and they are teaching their children he language. These names also offer the option of a nickname like Leonardo.
Boys: Antonio, Valentino, Matteo, Santiago, Giovanni, Leopold

I am interested to see what all of these celebrities name their babies! What will be even more interesting to see is if I'm right or even close to the names these parents pick since I am not the best at making guesses. I'll have to make an updated post as the babies are born.

Super Bowl LII {Patriots}

I'm not very familiar with the Patriots and their team members. That's no surprise considering I am an Eagles fan through and through. With that being said I still wanted to take a look at the Patriots roster and see what names caught my eye. One thing I did notice was there were two Malcolms on the team. I won't feature the name again since I just did it in the last posts. There are only 5 names on this list because there weren't a whole ton of unique names. Read on to find out who I picked!

Rex: King; Latin
Rex Burkhead
Rex has been a long time favorite of mine. I watched some reality show with a large family called Downsized. On the show one of the sons was named Rex. I remember it so clearly because I loved the name right away. Another Rex spotting is the dinosaur from Toy Story. Rex fits so perfectly with the more popular name Max.

Lawrence: From Laurentum, Laurel; English
Lawrence Guy
I'm really loving the old man names. I think so many of them are ready for a comeback. Lawrence is one of them. Law, Laws, and Ren are such great nickname (I may be a little biased towards the latter).

Dion: Of Zeus Tree; Greek
Dion Lewis
I know a Dion only its on a girl and not a boy. I personally like the name equally for both genders. The name is small but packs a lot of punch. It has ties to ancient Greece as a student of Plato. More modern times brings you the beautiful singer Celine Dion.

Bernard: Brave Bear; German
Bernard Reedy
I love learning random, interesting facts about names and boy do I have a good one for you. The dog breed Saint Bernard was named after a monk who lived in the Alps and helped pilgrims travel to Rome through the St. Bernard Pass. The dog was named after him because the dog also helped rescue people at the same place. I don't feel like the name is too associated with the dog and can be used now a days.

Marquis: March, Borderland; African American
Marquis Flowers
Like King and Duke, Marquis is a noble rank between duke and count. To my surprise, the name is ranked in the top 1000 for the US but all the way down at #943 so still unique. I've never paid much attention to this name but I'm really liking it.

Super Bowl LII {Eagles}

So I'm not a huge football fan but it was hard not to be here in Philly after the season the Eagles had. And now they are one of the two teams in the Super Bowl alongside the Patriots. I'm beyond happy for my team, especially as a born and raised an Eagles fan.

Millions will watch this game come Sunday whether you are a long time fan of either team or just there for the commercials. I'll be watching for my team, the commercials, and get this the names! I'm sure you're shocked about that fact. By the time the game comes on I'll have looked at all the players' names for both teams but that doesn't mean there won't be names I missed of non players. So if you aren't watching the game or just want to know some of the players names this post is for you! I'm going to separate the teams into their own posts. Be in the lookout for the Patriots post later in the week.

I went through the Eagles roster and pulled names of players that were interesting or caught my eye.

Carson: Song of Marsh-Dwellers; Scottish
Carson Wentz
You can't hear about the Eagles without Carson's name being thrown out there. He carried this team throughout the season until he got injured and then Nick Foles stepped in. As for a name I really like the modern sound to it. Right now the name is ranked in the top 100.

Beau: Beautiful; French
Beau Allen
Beau is such a sweet southern name! I adore the simple, soft sound and feel to it, nothing too harsh in the ears. Some people may feel like Beau is too nickname-ish so if thats the case some full names for Beau are Beaumont and Beauregard.

Nigel: Black; English
Nigel Bradham
Nigel is so unique and currently not ranked in the top 1000 for the US. This name reminds me of a little old British man. One of those names that I just want to pop back up on babies in 2018 (wishful thinking right?). Growing up I watched the Nickelodeon tv show "The Wild Thornberry's" and the dad on the show was named Nigel. Maybe thats were I get the British man picture from.

Fletcher: Maker of Arrows; English
Fletcher Cox
We're getting closer and closer to Valentine's day. The meaning of Fletcher fits perfectly for the holiday. So if you have a baby born between the Super Bowl and Valentine's Day and are an Eagles fan I think this is the perfect name for you. Surnames are a trend that is always around (or has been for many years now) and Fletcher fits this trend so well.

Shelton: Shelf Town; English
Shelton Gibson
Shelton is such a unique name. I've actually featured the name on my instagram during a week when I featured male country singer names after Blake Shelton. I'm sure there is a lot of people that think of the singer when they hear the name. I think Shelton is a more modern name than Sheldon. They sound almost identical.

Malcolm: Disciple if Saint Columba; Scottish
Malcolm Jenkins
The name Malcolm is a strong name dating back many, many years. In Scotland there were four kings bearing the name and then there was Malcolm X, a civil rights activist. There are so many qualities of this name to love. I personally like the nickname options, Mal, Cole, Colm, and Mac just to name a few.

Lane: Lane, Path; English
Lane Johnson
I am a huge Big Brother fan (any other fans out there?!) and there was a house guest named Lane Elenburg and it was the first time I had really hard the name on a person. Lane is short and sweet and if you don't like it as a first name it is lovely as a middle name.

Sidney: Wide Island; English
Sidney Jones
Sidney is more popular for the girls but I am all for boys taking back the names they once owned from the girls that have taken over them. With this spelling the name can be see a little more for boys but Sydney also works. One interesting fact I learned was Sidney is a contraction name that comes from Saint Denis.

Wendell: A Vandal; English
Wendell Smallwood
For the last few months I have been crushing hard on W names, especially for boys. So its no surprise that I added Wendell to this list. It fits into the old man chic name that I wish would come back in style. Wendell Willkie ran for president in 1940 and after that it doesn't seem to have been used much.

These are just some interesting names from the time. If you want to check out the whole roster go here and read their names. Also tell my who you're rooting for tomorrow!
