Christmas Association
Bethlehem is the name of the town Jesus was born in. Jesus is the meaning for the season so I thought it was only fitting to add Bethlehem to the name countdown and a great way to start. Place names, such as Charlotte, Savannah, and Austin, seem to be popular now a days so Bethlehem fits with the trends. She also covers the biblical trend that will always be popular.
As A Name
Bethlehem isn't as rare as I thought. I thought there would be no babies given the name in the last year or at the very least 5 babies but Iw as wrong. In 2015 only 24 babies were given the name and that is up from the 13 babies the year before. The meaning could be House of Bread or House of War. It is not completely sure. The common Elizabeth nickname Beth can be used here bring a common feeling to it.
What do you think of Bethlehem? Would you use it? Would you only use it if you had a Christmas baby?
