Top Debuts:1944-1953

Hey guys! So for today’s post I have another installment in the Top Debut Series. This time I am doing 10 years, so 1944-1953. Some of the names I couldn’t find meanings for so I’ll let you know about them. I was thinking I am just going to finish this series and then I will finish the “Rare” Series. I hope that is okay. So let’s get started.

1944
Deatra- This was the top debut for girls in 1944 and it was given to 29 babies. I couldn’t find the meaning for Deatra. In 2011, no babies were given this name.
Kipp- This was the tope debut for boys in 1944 and was given to 9 babies. Kipp means pointed hill in Old English. In 2011, 10 babies were given this name.

1945
Sherida- This was the top debut for girls in 1945 and was given to 26 babies. Sherida means peaceful; Wildman in Irish. In 201, no babies were given this name.
Vickie- This was the top debut for boys in 1945 and was given to 10 babies. Vickie means conqueror; victory in Latin and is a pet form of Victoria in English. In 2011, no babies were given this name.

1946
Suzzette- This was the top debut for girls in 1946 and was given to 17 babies. Suzzette means lily in Hebrew and French. In 2011, no babies were given this name.
Sung and Tyronne- These were the top debuts for boys in 1946. They were each given to 8 babies.
  • Sung means successor in Korean and was given to no babies in 2011.
  • Tyronne means Owen’s country in Gaelic. In 2011, no babies were given this name.

1947
Rory- This was the top debut for girls in 1947 and was given to 41 babies. Rory is a variant of Aurora and means dawn in Latin. In 2011, it was ranked at #900.
Eliezer- This was the top debut for boys in 1947 and was given to 11 babies. Eliezer means God is my hero in Hebrew. In 2011, 166 babies were given this name.

1948
Vickii- This was the top debut for girls in 1948 and was given to 30 babies. Vickii means victory in Latin. In 2011, no babies were given this name.
Ridge- This was the top debut for boys in 1948 and was given to 10 babies. Ridge means ridge in old English. In 2011, 122 babies were given this name.

1949
Rainelle- This was the top debut for girls in 1949 and was given to 46 babies. Rainelle means counsel, advicee in German. In 2011, it was given to no babies.
Ezzard- This was the top debut for boys in 1949 and was given to 21 babies. I couldn’t find the meaning of Ezzard. In 2011, no babies were given this name.

1950
Monalisa- This was the top debut for girls in 1950 and was given to 35 babies. Monalisa means noble, aristocratic in Irish. In 2011, 6 babies were given this names.
Broderick- This was the top debut for boys in 1950 and was given to 30 babies. Broderick means son of Rhydderch in Welsh. In 2011, it was ranked at #965.

1951
Debralee- This was the top debut for girls in 1951 and was given to 19 babies. Debralee means bee in Hebrew. In 2011, no babies were given this name.
Cregg- This was the top debut for boys in 1951 and was given to 10 babies. Cregg means rock in Celtic. In 2011, no babies were given this name.

1952
Terria- This was the top debut for girls in 1952 and was given to 17 babies. I couldn’t find the meaning of Terria. In 2011, 7 babies were given this name.
Faron and Gevan- These were the top debuts for boys in 1952 and were given to 12 babies each.
  • Faron means handsome servant in Old English. In 2011, 6 babies were given this name.
  • Gevan is an American name. In 2011, no babies were given this name.

1953
Trenace- This was the top debut for girls in 1953 and was given to 32 babies. I couldn’t find the meaning of Trenace. In 2011, no babies were given this name.
Caster- This was the top debut for boys in 1953 and was given to 21 babies. Caster means beaver in Greek. In 2011, 6 babies were given this name.
