Witches from Tv Shows and Movies

You may have already read my post on witches from books but here is my post of witches from movies and tv shows. I was going to do the two separate but figured it'd be easier to do them together. Let's see what witch names we have today!

Azkadellia
I put this name on the list simply because I thought this was cool and unique. Azkadellia comes from Tin Man. This is probably a name you would only have on your guilty pleasure list. If you really wanted to use it I would say use it as a middle name.

Harmony
Harmony comes from Sex and the Psychic Witch. Back in high school I read a story on Wattled and the main characters name was Harmony. I loved the name because of that. They called her Monie and I would use the name just because I really like the nickname Monie.

Davina Claire
This is a really nice combination together. Davina is so cool and I really like Davi or Vina as a nickname. You can find Davina in the tv show The Originals. Davina is the feminine form of David making it a great way to honor a David.

Endora
Endora comes from Bewitched. I'm sure everyone knows the tv show but I didn't know of this witch's name. I'm usually not a fan of names that end in dora but this one really interest me.

Evanora
On my witches from books post I had the name Nessarose, a combination name, I have another combination name for you and it's Evanora. I think between Nessarose and Evanora I like Evanora more. It's a whole lot prettier and sounds like it belongs on a princess. The witch is from Oz the Great and Powerful.

Prue
Prue comes from Charmed, the tv show. Prue is short for Prudence. I really like the name Prudence but don't think I would have the guts to use it. Prue as a nickname is great too. There were other names from Charmed but I liked Prue the most.

Mortiana
I think you can add Anna to the end of any name and it will sound like a princess name. Mortiana comes from the movie Robin Hood; Princes of Thieves. It reminds me of the name Mortimer but like a girl version of it.

Bridget "Jet"
I put this name on the list because of the nickname they use. I had never thought to use Jet as a nickname for Bridget, although it does make sense. I love it a whole lot too. Bridget or Jet as it says is from the movie Practice Magic. I have only seen the movie once but I really liked it.

Marnie
I had to put this name on the list. Marie is from the movie Halloweentown. I grew up with this movie and still watch it to this day. I loved the name Marnie as a child. I think I like it as a nickname but I'm not sure what full name I would choice.

Winifred
Another name I love from a childhood movie. This time the movie is Hocus Pocus. I've really been thinking about vintage, old lady chic names recently. Winifred is one of those names. I love Winnie as a nickname.

Zelda
Zelda comes from the tv show Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Zelda is such a hipster name. I adore it and I know a lot of people love it as well. Zelda is a good witch so I don't think the character is scaring people away.

Mable, Margo, and Mitzy
This sister set comes from Charmed. I had to include it because it not only has the name Margo, which I love, but it also had Mable with a  different spelling and Mitzy that just tops it off. Mable is usually spelled Mabel but I think the spelling they used was cool. Mitzy makes a cool nickname.

So there we have witches from tv shows and movies. If you want to check out my post on witches from books you can find it here. Let me know if you have any witch names that I didn't mention that they like. These aren't even half of the fictional witches out there! I just wanted to wish you guys a happy Halloween!

Witches of Literature

One of the common symbols of Halloween is witches. They date back many decades. At a time, people believed witches were evil and should be killed. Now they are just fictional characters in movies, books, and tv shows. I originally started out making this post a list of witches from movies, tv shows, and books but soon realized that it was going to be too long. Today I'll feature some witches from books and than in the future I'll talk about some from movies and tv shows.

Lavender
Lavender Brown is a witch from Harry Potter. I'm not a huge fan of Harry Potter so I can't help you a whole ton with who is she but I'm sure some of the superfine out there can help you. I'm such a sucker for the name Lavender. It's just so sweet. Lavender is the English word for the flower and the color, which is purple.

Freya, Ingrid, and Joanna
The witches from the book series, Witches of East End. I just love this sibling set so, so much. They all go together great. I especially love Freya and Ingrid is just so old lady chic I don't know why you wouldn't love it. Freya means lady in Norse. Ingrid means Ing is beautiful in Norse. Joanna is the feminine form of John, Yahweh is gracious.

Minnie
Minnie is a witch in the Goosebumps series. Recently I have been adoring the name Minnie. Growing up I always thought it was too Disney but now I think it is being seem as a vintage nickname. It is believed the Minnie is a diminutive of Wilhelmina but it can be a nickname for so many other names.

Lena, Ridley, and Sarafine
I have another set of sisters only this time they are from the Caster Chronicles series by Kami Gracia. Lena seems like such a witch name to me. It has an exotic feel to it and witches really are mysterious and different. I was surprised to see Ridley on a girl and even went to make sure it was a girl. I think its the coolest thing ever though. Seraphina is a name I plan to use as a middle name to honor my grandmother Sarah. I think Sarafine is just as cool and I can see parents using it more than Seraphina.

Ivalaine
The reason I put this name on the list is because it looks and sounds so cool. I had never seem this name before and I'm sure you guys haven't either. If you have, tell me in the comments below. Ivalaine is from The Last Rune. My research found that it could be pronounced like Evelyn or eye-vuh-line. I really like the second one the best.

Melisandre
I've never seen Game of Thrones but I wanted to include this name on the list. From what I understand people wouldn't want to name there baby after this character. It's pretty cool and I love this as an alternative to Melissa. Mel is a nice nickname for it.

Keziah
I adore this name so much. It's a biblical name from the Old Testament and the witch is from The Dreams in the Witch-House. It means cassia and cinnamon in Hebrew. More people should use this name!

Nessarose
I have never seen these two names together but I think it's cute. Nessa is to die for and Rose is such a common middle name that I can see these two names being combined together. Nessarose the witch is from Wicked.

Thessaly
Thessaly comes from The Sandman. This is actually a place name. It is a place in northern Greece. It's such a cool name and I can see people liking it. It's a nice fresh place name that I don't think many people know about.

So I picked out only a few of my favorite names. The list goes on and on for days. On a side note I didn't include the Weasleys from Harry Potter or any witches from The Worst Witch. I am going to either do a blog post on them or a instagram post. Stay tune for the witches from movies and tv shows!

Ollie: The Nickname

I've been binge watching season 3 of Arrow and the main characters name is Oliver "Ollie". Hearing Ollie over and over again makes me love it so much. The only thing is I'm not a huge fan of how popular Oliver is and is like a different full name for Ollie. I came up with a list of unique names for the nickname Ollie.

Orville: Such a classical name that reminds me of popcorn and airplanes. You can definitely get Ollie from Orville.

Oleander: This is not only an alternative to Oliver but to Alexander as well. I think this is my favorite name for the nickname Ollie.

Orlando: I've features this name on my Instagram before and I really have a love/hate relationship with it. I love it but I also can't see myself using it.

Olympio: This is one of the most unique full name for Ollie I have for you. This Greek name can because more common with the nickname Ollie.

Olson: The Olson twins anyone? I definitely think Olson fits with some more popular names like Mason and Jason.

Olivander: This is another Oliver/Alexander alternative. Olivander is a little more close to Oliver than Oleander if you like the V and the nickname Ollie.

Olivier: The French variant of Ollie. My only fear with this name is its only one letter different than Oliver and I'm afraid people will miss it.

Apollo: I adore Apollo and probably wouldn't have thought of the nickname Ollie but it works nicely, especially since there are many nicknames for it.

Colin: Although this name is so common using Ollie as a nickname is so uncommon.

There are so many other names that have the letter combination Ol that you could use. If I featured all of them we'd be here for days! I told you some of my favorite full names for Ollie now tell me yours!
