St. Patty's Day: Irish Names

So everyone knows that St. Patty’s Day is coming up. So in honor of it I am going to tell you my top 10 favorite Irish names for boys and my top 10 favorite Irish names for girls. You may have seen some of these names on my blog before but that’s okay. So let’s get started.
Girls
  1. Kella- It means warrior. I really like this name because it is a great alternation to Kelly, not that Kelly is popular or anything. You could use it to honor someone with the name Kelly.
  2. Monroe- It means form the hill. I have had this name on my blog before and I just love it. If you are a big Marilyn Monroe fan then you could use this name to honor her.
  3. Tierney- It means lord. I think I had this name on my blog before but I’m not sure. I really love this name. it sounds so girl and cute.
  4. Eilley- it means beautiful bird. I love this name. It sounds just like Riley but without the r. it makes a nice replacement for Riley.
  5. Keelty- It means descendent of the slender one. I like this name because of its cute and girly sound. I really like names that end in the y sound for girls and that is what this name is.
  6. Madigan- It means dog, mastiff. I used this name before but I just love it that much that I had to use it again. I really like it as an alternative to Madison, Madeline, Madelyn or any of the Maddie names.
  7. Tieve- it means hillside. The thing I like about this name is that is sounds like Nieve, which is a very pretty name.
  8. Kathan- It means battle warrior. I wasn’t sure whether I should but this name on the boy list or the girl list because it was unisex. I put it on the girl list because of the Kath part.
  9. Maili- It means of the sea or bitter. I like that this name has the May beginning. I really like May names and I really like the spelling.
  10. Monahan- It means descendent of the little monk. I picked this name because it beginnings with Mona which is a very pretty name and I have finally found a name that I like that I can use it as a nickname.

Boys
  1. Conan- It means hound, wolf. I like this name along with the similar name Ronan. It is different and that is good with boy names because there is not that many boy names out there.
  2. Finnian- It means white. I believe that I put this name on the blog already but I really like it. I like the name Finn but I don’t like the popular name Finley. So this is a great name for that.
  3. Finnegan- It means fair, white. I also put this name on the blog already but I really like it. Again with the Finn part I like that you can use it as a nickname.
  4. Keenan- It means descendent of the fair child. I LOVE K names and this is a K name that I love. I think the first time I saw it was on Nymber.com when I was looking up more name.
  5. Killian- It means church, monk’s cell. I love this name but only spelled with the k and not the c. There is the problem of the word Kill in the name but I could get over it.
  6. Brawley- It means descendent of the Brolach. I like this name because it is so different. Braw sounds like a fight so that can be a problem and it does sound a little girly but I still love it.
  7. Cashel-It means fortress. I like this name with the nickname Cash. I have finally found a name that you can use the nickname Cash with.
  8. Gilroy- It means descendent of the red-haired one. I like this name with the nickname Roy. It is different and manly to me and that is why I like it.
  9. Lennon- It means dear one. I really like this name but I wouldn’t want him to be called Lenny. He could be named after John Lennon.
  10. Riordan- It means royal poet. I really like how this name sounds like Jordan and has the nickname Rio. I really like Rio but not on its own so this solves that problem.

So that is my list. I hope you like it and found some new names that you like. Bye for now.
