Hey guys! I am back with another series. This time it will be the top name debuts for each year form 1881-2011. I will do 5-10 years each post and there will be about 13 post. I hope you like this series. So let’s get started.
1881
Adell and Celeste- The top name debuts in 1881 for girls were Adell and Celeste. They were both given to 14 girls each.
- Adell means noble in German and this year Adell was given to 178 babies.
- Celeste means heavenly in Latin and ranked at number 453, given to 665.
Brown and Newell- The top boy name debuts in 1881 were Brown and Newell. They were given to 14 babies each.
- Brown is a surname and was given to no babies this year.
- Newell means new hall in English and was given to no babies this year.
1882
Verda- The top girl name debut in 1882 was Verda. It was given to 14 babies. Verda means faith; green; spring green in Russian. Verda was not given to any babies this year.
Cleve- The top boy name debut in 1882 was Cleve. It was given to 13 babies. Cleve means land of cliffs; hilly area; cliff, slope in English. Today Cleve was given to no ways.
1883
Laurel- The top girl name debut in 1883 was Laurel. It was given to 12 babies. Laurel means the bay, or laurel plant in Latin. Today Laurel was ranked at 927, given to 277 babies.
Brady, Festus, Jewell, Odell, and Rosco- These were the top baby name debuts for boys in 1883. They were each given to at least 8 baby boys.
- Brady means descendant of BrĂ¡dach in Irish and is ranked at 135, given to 3,021.
- Festus means joyous, festive in Latin and was given to no babies this year.
- As a girl name Jewell means plaything, delight in French and was given to no boys today.
- Odell means woad hill in English and was given to 14 babies today.
- Rosco means deer wood in German and was given to 11 babies today.
1884
Crystal and Rubie- These were the top girl name debuts in 1184. They were each given to 11 babies.
Crystal means ice in Greek and is ranked at number 343, given to 921 babies.
Rubie means the red gem stone in English and was given to 26 babies today.
Benjamin, Jens, Oakley, and Whitney- These were the top debuts for boys in 1884. They were each given to 9 babies.
- Benjamin means son of the right hand; son of the south; son of my old age in Hebrew and was ranked at number 19, given to 12, 942 babies today.
- Jens means God is gracious in Hebrew and Scandinavian and was not given to any babies this year.
- Oakley means meadow of oak trees in English and was given to 191 babies this year.
- Whitney means white island in English and was given to 5 boys this year.
1885
Clotilde- This name was the top girl name debut in 1885. It was given to 13 babies. Clotilde means famous battle in German and was given to no babies today.
Arley and Terence- These were the top boy name debuts in 1885. They were given to 9 babies.
- Arley means hare meadow in English and was given 56 babies this year.
- Terence is Latin and was given to 127 babies this year.
